Two Auckland Powerball tickets have split Saturday night’s NZ$40 million jackpot, with each winner taking home a staggering NZ$20,111,111! One ticket was sold at Blockhouse Bay Postshop & Stationers, while the other was bought through MyLotto by an Auckland player, and the revelation means that the draw created two new multimillionaires from the draw that took place on the 25th of July, rather than just one winner scooping the entire prize.
Each payout combines NZ$20 million from Powerball First Division with NZ$111,111 from Lotto First Division, and the winning Lotto numbers were 1, 12, 14, 18, 22 and 29, with 32 drawn as the Bonus Ball and 8 as the Powerball number.
The draw also produced seven additional Lotto First Division winners, each receiving NZ$111,111; five Strike Four winners won NZ$40,000 each; while 29 Lotto Second Division tickets were worth NZ$19,686 each.
It was a notable draw, as Saturday’s jackpot was the largest lotto prize offered in New Zealand so far in 2026, rising to NZ$40 million after Powerball First Division went unclaimed in Wednesday’s draw.
Lotto NZ Delayed The Location Announcement
While the identities of the winners have not been published, Lotto NZ has now revealed the winning stores and regions, though the announcement was initially delayed until 11 am on Sunday. This follows a newly introduced approach designed to give players more time to check their tickets before learning where the biggest-winning tickets were sold.
What’s interesting about this draw is that the delay became significant because one of the winning entries was online, while the other came from a physical Auckland retailer. Players who purchased tickets for Saturday’s draw could check them via MyLotto, the MyLotto app, or any authorised Lotto outlet, as is the case every week.
