Licence MGA/B2C/123/2017, held by Example Gaming Ltd, passed the halfway point of its current term this autumn. It was first issued on 1 March 2018, renewed on 1 March 2023, and according to the Malta Gaming Authority register it now runs until 29 February 2028. What happens between now and then decides whether the next renewal is a formality or a review.
Renewal is earned in the middle years
A renewal application is judged on the record of the whole term, not on the paperwork filed in its final month. Audited accounts, compliance reports and any regulator findings all land on the same file. A licensee that reaches its last year with no open findings usually renews on the existing terms; one with unresolved issues can expect new conditions or a shorter term.
Where this licence stands
So far the record is short and clean: one brand, Example Casino, covered since March 2018, no sanctions and no conditions added after the renewal. The chief executive since April 2023 is Jane Doe, formerly the finance chief of Sample Casino Group — a background that suits a regulator that reads accounts as closely as marketing.
What would change the picture
Three events would move this licence out of the routine column: a new brand or domain added under it, a change of the people approved to run it, or any regulator notice. Each would be dated on the licence page with a link to its source, so the path to 2028 can be followed one entry at a time.
