flutter entertainment to delist from london stock exchange

Flutter Entertainment, the world’s largest online gambling company and the parent company of FanDue has announced that it’s officially pulling out of the London market entirely!

In a recent statement, Flutter revealed that it will be delisting from the London Stock Exchange, citing high listing costs, and low trading volume as the main motivations. All Flutter Entertainment London shares will be cancelled on the 3rd August 2026.

Their last day of trading on the LSE is expected to be on Friday the 31st July, 2026, after which their ordinary shares will only be listed on the New York Stock Exchange – under the ticker “FLUT”.

The move marks yet another company to leave the UK in favour of prioritising US trading, around two years after the group shifted its primary listing to New York.

A Company Very Much in Transition

The delisting is just one of several major changes Flutter is going through right now – with the first big shift happening in early May when CEO Amy Howe stepped down from her position. FanDuel President, Christian Genetiski took over the role, with the move coming amidst declining stock prices, increased US competition, and a loss of market share in both its casino and sports betting verticals.

The company has also been reducing its workforce through three rounds of layoffs over the past 12 months, and it just shut down its FanDuel Picks peer-to-peer fantasy product in early May, too, just a few months after it launched!

Now, granted, this story doesn’t really affect New Zealand punters that much, as it’s unlikely to change how Flutter-owned brands operate day to day, but it does show just how aggressively the world’s biggest betting operator is consolidating around its US sports betting business. That might be something that ends up affecting Kiwis in future.
