Pragmatic Play released Death Dominion on the 30th of July, a gothic scatter-pays slot designed around a multiplier mechanic that can just as easily wipe out your winnings – as well as multiply them.
The game is set in a graveyard, and it’s all watched over by the Grim Reaper. Like all recent Pragmatic Play releases, the graphics are excellent, and it combines with the studio’s now-familiar Scatter Pays and tumble features – alongside a variety of different bonus rounds.
How the Doom Symbol Works
Death Dominion is played on a 6×5 grid. There are no traditional paylines as wins are formed by 8+ matching symbols landing anywhere in view. When a win is formed, the tumble mechanic then removes them, and new symbols drop down to take their place. This process continues until no additional wins are formed for that spin
The Doom symbol is the game’s core mechanic, and when these land, they transform at the end of a tumble sequence into random multipliers, or, if any multiplier symbols are currently on the screen, nullifying every one in view!
The game’s bonus round is triggered by landing 4, 5, or 6 Scatter symbols anywhere in view, and doing so awards up to 20 free spins. During the bonus, multipliers can reach as high as 1,000x, and all winning multipliers are added to a total multiplier – which is then applied to a win when a multiplier lands. Landing a Doom symbol at any point during the free spins resets the total global multiplier back to zero.
Bonus Variants, Ante Bets and Feature Buys
Any combination of four or more scatters that includes at least one special Dominion or Immortal scatter activates one of three enhanced bonus games, too, and this offers additional multipliers, removal of the Doom symbol’s power to take away multipliers – or both.
The game itself carries a slightly above-average RTP of 96.54%, it’s played against a medium variance maths model, and there’s also an Ante Bet option which increases your chances of landing the free spins naturally.
It’s an interesting looking game, but the Doom symbol will likely be controversial. Some players love the excitement – and frustration – behind such a mechanic, while others despise it. For us, it’s interesting – and we’ll give it a few spins in one of our upcoming casino reviews!

Pragmatic Play has started its August release schedule with Jade Legends, a dragon-inspired slot that was released on 3 August 2026.
