New Zealand’s Powerball jackpot has now grown to NZ$25 after nobody managed to match all six Lotto numbers and the Powerball in Saturday’s nightly draw.
The NZ$23 million Powerball First Division prize went unclaimed on the 29th of August, and this continues a run of rollovers that’s seen the jackpot increase pretty steadily throughout the month. The next chance for a lucky Kiwi to scoop the jackpot will be on Wednesday the 2nd of September.
Saturday’s winning Lotto NZ numbers were 2, 5, 20, 24, 25 and 31, and the Bonus Ball was 18. The Powerball was 5.
While nobody managed to win Powerball First Division, there were several winners who did pretty well – as you’ll see below.
Three tickets managed to match all six main Lotto numbers, giving each Lotto First Division winner NZ$333,333. Another three tickets also won Strike Four, which means they collected NZ$333,333 each, after correctly matching the first four Lotto numbers in their exact drawn order: 2, 20, 5 and 24.
Ten Lotto Second Division winners received NZ$37,752 each, while 56 tickets matched five Lotto numbers plus the Powerball – for a combined prize of NZ$1,581 each.
The Powerball jackpot has now gone through a pretty lengthy sequence of August rollovers. It initially stood at NZ$8 million on the 8th of August, before increasing to NZ$10 million on the 12th of August – before eventually reaching NZ$23 million on Saturday.
