How to Read the Lotto Results

A Lotto draw produces six main winning numbers from 1 to 40, and there is also a Bonus Ball. The main Lotto prize divisions depend on how many of these numbers are matched on a player’s ticket, and, for some divisions, whether the Bonus Ball is also matched.

Powerball Results

Powerball is played alongside Lotto, and one Powerball between 1 and 10 is drawn in addition to the standard Lotto numbers.

The Powerball prize table above shows how many winning tickets there were in each division. You can also view the prize attached to that result. If nobody wins the top Powerball division, the jackpot ends up rolling over to a later draw.

Strike Results

Strike uses the first four Lotto numbers in the exact order they were drawn. This is the reason why the Strike sequence can end up looking a lot different from the Lotto numbers displayed in numerical order above.

Today, there are four Strike prize divisions. Strike 4 requires all four numbers to be matched in their correct positions, while the lower divisions are based on matching one, two, or three numbers, all in the correct position.

When Are Lotto Results Released in New Zealand?

Lotto, Powerball and Strike draws take place twice a week, on Wednesday and Saturday evenings.

The draw times can vary slightly between Wednesday and Saturday, and that’s why DashTickets shows the recorded draw time alongside each result, rather than just assuming each draw takes place at the exact same time each week.

The latest result appears at the top of this page, with previous Lotto draws available below and through our monthly results archive.

Previous NZ Lotto Results

If you’re looking for an older Lotto draw, check out the monthly archive below to browse previous Lotto, Powerball and Strike results by date.

You’ll find every archived result includes the winning Lotto numbers – alongside the available draw and prize information for that date.

Checking a Winning Lotto Ticket

The results on this page are provided as a convenient way for you to be able to check previous and current New Zealand Lotto numbers. If you think you hold a winning ticket, you should verify it directly through Lotto NZ or MyLotto before you make a claim – just to be sure!

If you purchased a ticket electronically through MyLotto, prizes are handled through your MyLotto account in accordance with Lotto NZ’s prize distribution rules.

If you purchased a physical ticket: prizes of up to NZ$1,000 can usually be claimed through a Lotto NZ retailer. If your win is worth NZ$1,000 or more, they are handled by Lotto NZ directly – but a local retailer can help you submit the claim.

Under the current Lotto Rules, prizes must be claimed within 12 months of the date the winning numbers were drawn.

About Our Lotto Results

DashTickets is an independent website and is not affiliated with or operated by Lotto New Zealand or MyLotto.

Gambling Addiction Warning

Gambling should only ever be viewed as a form of fun; entertainment, and never a way to make money, or for financial gain. If you find yourself chasing losses, unable to stop, or expecting to win, you may be exhibiting signs of problem gambling. If, at any point, you feel that you have a gambling problem, stop immediately, check out our Responsible Gambling page, and reach out to organisations and charities like New Zealand’s Problem Gambling Foundation. Help and support is available.
