One of the world’s most popular slot developers, Play’n Go, has released its latest pokie this week, taking players under the sea for a colourful and comedy-driven adventure, Shark Feast.
This brand new online pokie is set against the backdrop of a fictional neon jellyfish festival, and most of the action centres on Jawsome Joe, a flamboyant shark character who does his best to try and ruin the underwater celebration by wearing a selection of disguises to try and trick the unsuspecting jellyfish!
The game’s designed around a 6-reel layout and it uses a Scatter Pays mechanic, so wins are formed anywhere in view. There are also cascading reels, so winning combos vanish from the screen and new ones drop down to take their place.
Shark Feast contains a lot of bonus action, and first up are the Chomp Multipliers. Whenever winning symbols are removed from the reels, the cleared positions get a 2x multiplier, and if a multiplier already exists in a position and it contributes to a win, the multiplier doubles. Chomp multipliers reset at the start of every new base game spin, and when a win includes one or more of these chomp multipliers, their values are added together and applied to the total payout.
You’ll also find a number of helper symbols which trigger modifiers when they land in the base or bonus game: They can transform into regular symbols and reveal a chomp multiplier. They can turn into a regular symbol and add a random chomp multiplier of up to 8x to all symbols. They can also clear a 3×3 area around its position, removing all symbols except wilds and scatter.
