ComeOn Group and SuomiVeto have recently announced that they have secured gambling licences ahead of Finland’s new licensed online gambling market, which is scheduled to open on July 1 2027.
Both companies made announcements on October 22, and they now become the first publicly reported Finnish licensees, as the country prepares to open online casinos and sports betting up to the free market.
Common and SuomiVeto both revealed that the licences were awarded by the Finnish National Police Board.
What ComeOn Has Announced
European Entertainment Group, ComeOn’s parent company, said its subsidiary had received all the Finnish gambling licences it applied for. The group also said that the licences will allow it to offer online casino and sports betting services when the regulated market opens.
ComeOn submitted its applications on 2 March 2026, according to its parent, but the announcement did not provide any licence number, so these details remain to be confirmed.
SuomiVeto Publishes Licence Details
Helsinki-based SuomiVeto Oy said its licence, RALU/2027/L111, is valid from 1 July 2027 until 30 June 2032. The company said it covers fixed-odds and variable-odds betting, virtual betting, online casino games, online bingo and online slots.
SuomiVeto said the National Police Board found that the company, its owners and its management met the relevant reliability and suitability requirements, and it also said that it wouldn’t be offering any gambling services before the market opens.
What Changes in 2027?
Finland has decided to move from a state monopoly to a competitive licensing model for parts of its gambling market – but not all. The new licensing market is set to open on July 1 2027, although exact details – and licensee requirements – remain to be seen.
