Trips Casino is a brand new casino that opened its doors to New Zealand players in 2024. If you’re looking for a new casino where you can claim the bonuses you’ll be happy to hear that the welcome bonus package here is 1900 NZD plus 225 free spins.

Trips Casino already got a little bit of a reputation for paying fast. You’ll deposit using your e-wallets or crypto here as it’s a Curacao casino, and based on what I’ve found out, this casino will pay you your winnings.

You’ll find a few things I have a problem with but the most important one, payments, is an area in which Trips excels. Now onto my review where I deposited real money to test out this casino for you Kiwi players.

My Playing Experience at Trips Casino Casino

Registration Process

Registration was quick and easy, I didn’t have to enter my phone number or date of birth. Simply enter an email, a password, and go confirm the email address. That’s it. You’ll be taken to a welcome screen that tells you what bonus you can get on your first deposit. I loved the simplicity here.

Related to this, it’s good to know that Trips is one of the casinos that accept Inclave.

The games I played and tested

I fooled around with some pokies, couldn’t really find the ones that I wanted to play so I fell back to Big Bass series and some NoLimit City titles. I could even say it was pleasant to see fewer pokies as I was able to find some new titles I otherwise would have missed.

Trips Casino Welcome Bonus 110% up to 700 NZD + 75 Free Spins

The first deposit bonus, with the bonus code T1, is 110% up to 700 NZD + 75 FS spread over three days. This is part of a three-deposit bonus that totals 1900 NZD and 225 FS. Total bonus from this welcome package works out to exactly 100% but you get more on your 1st and 3rd deposit, and less on your 2nd deposit.

Bonus Terms & Conditions

  • 30 NZD minimum deposit
  • Deposits made with Neteller or Skrill don’t qualify for bonuses
  • Maximum allowed bet with an active bonus is only 1.5 NZD
  • Wagering is 30x bonus and deposit
  • Bonus is valid for 5 days only
  • Pragmatic Play pokies contribute 50%, Play’n GO contribute 5%…
  • Wagering contribution of all live dealer games is 0%

Edward’s Verdict on this Bonus

This is an awfully restrictive bonus. First of all, the wagering is actually almost 60x in case of the 110% deposit bonus (57x to be exact) as the wagering is set to 30x bonus and deposit. And then, when they put up that kind of a high requirement, they say you must meet it within 5 days, with a maximum allowed bet of only 1.5 NZD. The standard max bet is 5 EUR at other casinos.

And then, if that wasn’t enough already, they say ”for some providers” the wagering contribution is different. So it’s 50% for Pragmatic Play. Meaning, if you play Prag pokies then your total wagering is 114x.

This is completely uncalled for. Other casinos can make ends meet with normal wagering conditions.

Games you can play at Trips Casino

The selection of providers is a bit limited at Trips. You won’t notice but I do – there are tons of providers here but off the top of my head I can say at least ten or twenty small ones that are missing that I see at other casinos.

I also couldn’t find some pokies that I normally test. There was no Wings of Horus by Hacksaw Gaming, no Fire in the Hole 2 by NoLimit City, and no Thunderkick at all.

Now let’s see how well do the games pay. Edward tested this for you.

Pokie RTP Test

Pokie Provider RTP at Trips Casino Maximum RTP setting
Buffalo King Megaways Pragmatic Play 94.55% 96.52%
Mental x9999 NoLimit City 94.20% 96.06%
Big Bass Bonanza Pragmatic Play 94.02% 96.50%
Wings of Horus Hacksaw Gaming 94.32% 96.24%

Even in my limited test the trend is obvious – Trips Casino will shave a pokie whenever given the opportunity. They won’t reduce to lowest RTP but will keep it sub-95% if they can. This is what a lot of casinos do, and it’s a moderate fail of my test.

Pokie providers

1Spin4Win, 3 Oaks Gaming, 4ThePlayer, AceRun, Apparat, AvatarUX, Backseat Gaming, Bad Dingo, Bang Bang Games, Belatra, Betsoft, BGaming, Big Time Gaming, Blue Guru Games, Boomerang, Booming Games, Bulletproof, Bullshark, Clawbuster, Electric Elephant, Four Leaf Gaming, Games Global, Gamevy, Hacksaw Gaming, Hot Rise Games, iSoftBet, Jelly, NetEnt, NoLimit City, Peter & Sons, PG Soft, Platipus, Play’n GO, Playson, Popiplay, Pragmatic Play, Print Studios, Push Gaming, Quickspin, Reflex Gaming, Relax Gaming, Silverback, Spinomenal, Spribe, TrueLab, Wazdan, Yggdrasil

Live Dealer games

This is an Evolution live casino with nothing else on top. I rarely see such a low number of providers, making me think that this is just a start and that more will be added later. I hope. Until there are more developers, this is the poorest live casino I’ve seen in NZ in a while. This is a really new casino so I’ll cut them some slack. No doubt they’ll add more live providers in the future.

Payment Methods

Payment console is superb. It’s easy to deposit fiat, and equally easy do deposit or even buy crypto. You don’t see that very often – crypto payments being a breeze. Usually even the hardened crypto guys have issues. Here, everything is simple. You get your own crypto address for every coin that’s accepted, and you simply send funds to it.

No PayPal is here and local New Zealand bank transfers obviously. There’s a decent range of e-wallets and a limited range of cryptos but all the main ones are covered.

Trips Casino Payment Speed

I’ve seen a lot of players report fast payment by Trips. The casino is so new we can’t know for sure, but I guess if you passed your KYC verification you’ll get your funds fast. I got no reason to think otherwise.

Trips Casino Company Information and Licencing

www.tripscasino.com is owned and operated by Dama N.V. that is incorporated under the laws of Curaçao with company registration number 152125 and having its registered address at Scharlooweg 39, Willemstad, Curaçao. Dama N.V. is operating under E-gaming license No. OGL/2023/174/0082 issued by Curaçao Gaming Control Board.

Having a GCB licence is a big sign of trust.

Sister Casinos

This is the only brand handled by this same team, though as you know there are over 110 casinos under the Dama NV umbrella, the most well-known being BitStarz and Playfina.

Trips Casino Complaints and Disputes

Complaints and disputes are first handled in-house, and after that you can turn to Curaçao Gaming Control Board, which is a regulatory body that actually investigates complaints. This is a good sign and it means Trips is above your usual Curaçao casino that carries one of four weak legacy licences that mean nothing. Thumbs up for this.

Customer Support

Customer support was decent, they replied quickly to my query regarding bonuses. Even if I was displeased with the answer.

How Kiwi players rate Trips Casino

This casino is so new that I haven’t been able to find much information. Basically, this review by Edward is your best bet. I’m a Kiwi player so listen to me.

I got my withdrawal quickly and I saw some other NZ players that say they got paid quickly, within a few hours. Payment speed is the number one criterion for judging the quality of a casino, so Trips did well here.

Is Trips Casino legit or a scam?

Trips Casino is legit. It’s part of a reputable Dama NV group and the payments are processed quickly. It’s just that the games section isn’t yet fully populated, the RTP of games are set to a lower payout, and the bonuses are restrictive – probably as a precaution to not go bankrupt in the first year. I understand. It’s a decent casino for now, I’m looking forward to seeing it grow in the coming months and years.

On the plus side, you’re not a member yet as the casino is so new, so you’re definitely eligible to claim all the bonuses. I’d advise that. The bonus rules are restrictive but what matters is that you will get paid your winnings and will get paid quickly.
