Have you heard of Asino Casino yet? No? Okay – Edward is here to introduce you to this brand launched in 2023 by the Hollycorn group that carries a strong GCB licence. If you’re wondering if this is a good casino to play in, will you get paid, are the games fair, I got you covered. We’ll tackle all of those questions and give you a straight up answer as I deposited my own real money into this casino! Read about my experience with Asino casino and you’ll probably feel as if you’ve played yourself.

In a nutshell, if you just want a quick answer if you should play here or not, Asino is a legit casino with the strongest Curaçao licence. You’ll get paid. There are plenty of welcome bonuses and a good loyalty program, and pokies that are often set to their low RTP rating but you can find some that pay well. There’s also a big live casino where you can satisfy your live dealer gambling needs.

The first deposit bonus is 100% up to €300 or currency equivalent, and you get 200 free spins also if your deposit was greater than €100. So, for a deposit of €100 or roughly NZ$183 you double your money and then get 200 free spins worth €0.10 each. How cool is that? And there are three more bonuses to claim when you’re done with the first one.

My Playing Experience at Asino Casino

Timing: 18 hours
Registration: 7 minutes
KYC: Proof of ID, proof of address
Support: Fast reply, professional
Playing time: 3 hours
Deposit and withdrawal:  I deposited LTC

Registration Process

The registration wasn’t very straightforward. When I entered my details and desired password I didn’t get a notification that my account was opened, but the activation link was already in my email inbox. This could use some work, Asino.

How much I deposited and what bonus I got

I actually deposited less than the minimum amount for the bonus, because for some strange reason I wanted to see if a 20 NZD deposit will be accepted since everyone is saying that the minimum deposit here is 20 EUR, which would be slightly less than 40 NZD and that’s a lot.

So I deposited 20 NZD in LTC Litecoin and it went through smoothly, I had 19.84 NZD when I made a deposit, but I don’t think it was a fee, it’s just that the LTC/NZD exchange rate changed, I guess.

I now regret that I haven’t deposited 10 NZD to see if it will go through. I suspect it would. Anyway, a 20 NZD deposit definitely will.

My Playing Experience

It’s obvious that this website is so new that it has a few glitches. I was even able to click a game that didn’t load. But it will work itself out I guess.

The navigation was ok and the games loaded fast. No problems there. I played some of my favourite titles such as Big Bass series, some roulette and blackjack, and I tested the RTP of some other pokies that were in the lobby.

I had some luck on blackjack and a little less on roulette, and eventually my balance was depleted quickly by Big Bass Secrets of the Golden Lake as I failed to trigger the free spins round. Got close five or six times but it wouldn’t budge. So my playing session was a bit short, but you can’t expect much for 20 NZD. I’d advise you to deposit more if you intend to play here, to get the bonus and the free spins.

Welcome Bonuses

The welcome bonuses were all listed in euros, as everything on the site, despite my currency being NZD. Oh well. I’ll just tell you what the values are in euros and won’t do currency conversion, I’ll only mention NZD where Asino mentioned them. Here are the bonuses on your first four deposits that you can get:

  • 1st Deposit – 100% up to €300 + 200 FS on Lady Wolf Moon Megaways; bonus code START
  • 2nd Deposit – 80% up to €400 + 200 FS on Gold Rush with Johnny Cash;bonus code BOOST
  • 3rd Deposit – 60% up to €500 + 200 FS on Aloha King Elvis; bonus code TREAS
  • 4th Deposit – 40% up to €800 + 200 FS on Elvis Frog Trueways; bonus code PEAK

In all cases, you get the maximum of 200 free spins when you make a €100 deposit, which would be around 183 NZD. Deposit 200 NZD to make sure. If you deposit less than €100, then instead of 200 free spins you get 100.

Key Terms and Conditions

  • Minimum deposit is NZD20
  • You must enter the correct bonus code at time of making your deposit
  • The maximum bet is €5 or 6.5 NZD
  • Wagering requirement for cash bonus is 40x
  • Wagering requirement for free spins is 30x
  • Free spins are played at a €0.10 bet
  • There is no maximum win limit
  • Bonus is valid for 7 days

Retention Offers

Asino is doing a lot to try to keep you entertained and always playing with some sort of a bonus. The best things here are the reload bonuses and the loyalty program, but have a look for yourself.

Reload Bonuses

For every day of the week there’s a different bonus that you can get, so make your pick and deposit on that day. I think I like Saturday the most as, despite it only being a 50% bonus, I can also get some free spins, and I can get that bonus every single week for as long as I like.

  • Monday Moneyday – up to 380 FS
  • Tuesday Tuestash – 40% up to €300 + 300 FS
  • Wednesday Winsday – up to 300 FS
  • Thursday Thrillsday – 30% up to €400 + 240 FS
  • Friday Funday – up to 500 FS
  • Saturday Surpriseday – 50% up to €200 + 200 FS
  • Sunday Sumday – up to 210 FS

100 Levels of Loyalty Program

It’s nice to see a transparent loyalty program where you know beforehand what prizes you’ll get. When you reach level 5, you already know you’re getting 50 free spins, and it’s something to aim towards.

Prizes for the Rookie level (1-10) are mostly free spins, but they become cash prizes soon afterwards, and if you make it to level 50 you’ll start getting cash prizes such as NZ$1,000. It gets better if you’re a high roller, as the maximum prize, for level 100, is €200,000 or currency equivalent.

You win 1 point for every 30 NZD you wager. All the free spins and cash prizes have a rollover requirement of 10x.

Tournaments and Challenges

There are several tournaments you can play at Asino, nothing special and not at the level of other casinos that focus more on this. In addition to tourneys, there are challenges with cash prizes such as a 552 NZD prize for the first person who hits a 3985x win on Gates of Olympus with a bet of 1.40 NZD or more.

Games you can play at Asino Casino

Asino Casino has lots of games by top providers, which includes pokies, live dealer games and table games, and it’s all bundled together in their quite modern website design. Though I feel as if the boxey list of pokies is taking away from the game design as the game developer intended. They all look like items, not games, if you catch my drift.

You won’t be missing many games here, though I have a few in mind that are absent.

Pokies at Asino Casino

There’s tons of pokies at Asino and they’re organised as Asino wants them. The pokie that they want to promote the most is among the first, and the list isn’t unique to New Zealand but is global. Spribe Aviator is the second item in the lobby – go figure. The rest are mostly Pragmatic Play pokies as that’s the hottest developer right now.

There are plenty of developers here but the ones that seem to get an advantage for lobby placement are those that are popular and whose pokies have a configurable RTP. In other words, Asino will present to you the popular pokies that have a reduced RTP.

To find the good pokies, you’ll have be smart about it and use the search function. Check the game info screen for RTP information (if you can’t find it, don’t play) and then Google for the maximum RTP for that particular game. If the values match, go ahead and play.

Pokie RTP Test

The casinos I test usually have the pokies whose RTP is configurable set to their middle setting. I haven’t seen High yet and I definitely haven’t seen Low. Well, Asino does Low. This casino won’t hesitate to set the pokie to a 92% RTP setting if they can do it, as you can see below in my RTP test of their pokies.

Game Developer RTP at Asino Maximum RTP setting
Big Bass Bonanza Pragmatic Play 94.02% 96.71%
Hand of Anubis Hacksaw Gaming 92.28% 96.24%
Big Bass Splash Pragmatic Play 94.60% 96.71%
Gates of Olympus 1000 Pragmatic Play 94.00% 96.50%
Gold Rush with Johnny Cash BGaming 92.21% 96.08%
Le Bandit Hacksaw Gaming 92.12% 96.34%

I was okay with Big Bass Splash and Big Bass Bonanza being set to their middle setting, because I’m used to it. However, Hand of Anubis had awful RTP of 92.28%, I’m not sure it should even be legal to put such a game in a casino lobby with a straight face.

I also tried the Big Wild Buffalo pokie by Belatra, one of the top 10 in the lobby, and couldn’t find the RTP but other online sources claim that this game has an RTP of 91.51%. I’m not touching Belatra pokies again!

You’d be hard pressed to find a pokie that pays well at Asino.

Live Dealer Games

You’ll find tons of live dealer games in the Live Casino section, but they’re bundled together with table games, so pay attention. I’d say that of 220 games available in the Live Casino, at least 40 are RNG table games. If you don’t see a human dealer – it’s not a live dealer game.

You can play games by Evolution, Pragmatic Play, Ezugi, Beterlive, Luckystreak, Absolute Live Gaming, Winfinity, Live Solutions, and some other providers that don’t yet have a live game but they do have RNG games, such as Microgaming, Platipus, KA Gaming and more.

This is a healthy selection of games – though Playtech is missing – and you’ll have a blast. There’s a navigation bar at the top where you can choose Roulette, Blackjack, Poker, Baccarat, Game Shows and Scratch Cards so that’s useful. Not all game shows are here, some are missing, but the selection is still good enough. You’ll enjoy your time at Asino Live Casino, just avoid the RNG games.

Deposits and withdrawals are possible in fiat currency or in crypto, and you have to take the money out the same way you put it in. If you deposited crypto, you must withdraw crypto. There are quite a few options available but notably the “real” ones are missing – bank transfer and PayPal – although bank transfer appears as a fallback withdrawal solution. What you get is a bunch of e-wallets and a bunch of cryptocurrencies.

I’d choose crypto any given day, and I’d convert it to EUR if I were you, for some reasons that I explain a little bit further below. If you’re depositing fiat, only then would I use NZD as the Asino account currency. With crypto, it doesn’t matter anyway – you’ll get crypto back, not NZD.

Does Asino use NZD natively?

That’s a big no. You’ll see EUR mentioned everywhere on the site, and NZD is only mentioned in Terms & Conditions when it’s necessary to do a currency conversion. While you get to see your account balance in NZD, it’s just creating a mess as you haven’t got a clue how much you need to deposit to get the maximum free spins, for example.

If I were you, I’d simply roll with the punches and choose EUR as my currency. It will make everything oh so much simpler, trust me.

Customer Support

First you get a bot, which is usually a bad sign, but here that’s not the case. You’re taken straight to the customer support agent as soon as you select a few buttons. The customer support here is professional, knowledgeable, and fast to reply, they’re real humans who care about your query.

Asino Casino Company Information and Licencing

Asino is run by Hollycorn N.V., a known and respected group that used to operate under an Antillephone 8048/AZ Curaçao licence but has recently made the switch to the new government-backed Curaçao Gaming Control Board licence that was only made available a few months ago (licence no. OGL/2023/176/0095). This is a huge sign of trust as Hollycorn N.V. made a major switch to a more trusted licence, while many other casinos did not and will not.

Hollycorn N.V., incorporated under Curacao laws with registration number 144359, owns and operates Asino Casino. Its registered address is Scharlooweg 39 U.22, Curacao, listed on the website as Heelsumstraat 51 E-Commerce Park, Curacao. It is run together with its wholly-owned subsidiary, Libergos Limited, registered in Cyprus with registration number 371971 and registered address Boumpoulinas, 1-3, Bouboulina Building, Flat/Office 42, 1060, Nicosia, Cyprus.

Hollycorn N.V. is a group that has been active since 2017 with their crypto casinos and really made it around 2021 during the big crypto bull run when everyone was interested in crypto.

Sister Casinos

Hollycorn N.V. owns and operates 32 casinos, including two you have heard of as we have reviewed them already, Boho Casino and Billy Billion. The other brands include Wild Coins, Parimatchwin, BitVegas.io, Crocoslots and more. Most of these casinos enjoy a good reputation among players.

How other players rate Asino Casino

Asino was just launched in 2023 so we don’t have many player reviews yet. What you can count on is my own experience here as a DashTickets reviewer, and the general reputation of the Hollycorn N.V. group, which is good. I checked the ratings and reviews of their other brands, and they all check out as legit operations.

Is Asino Casino legit or a scam?

Asino, being part of the Hollycorn N.V. group, is definitely legit. This group and this casino are operating under the new Curaçao Gaming Control Board, which is a big sign of trust and it puts them above the casinos that still carry the legacy Curaçao licences that mean nothing.

This is also a new casino so you aren’t a member yet, which means you can claim all the bonuses and enjoy all the perks, the casino is brand new to you and yet it’s trustworthy. This is something I don’t see every day.
