PokerStars doesn't work in NZ?
Quote from jackpot_jane on June 2, 2025, 6:13 amHey team. Went to fire up Stars tonight and got the classic “service unavailable in your region” pop-up. Thought it was a glitch but after three reinstalls and a VPN shuffle it still won't take my login. Deposit page also borks out, my ANZ Visa just declines straight away. Did they finally geofence Aotearoa or am I being a muppet?

Quote from luckyduck on June 3, 2025, 3:44 amBeen grinding micro PLO from Wellington literally twenty minutes ago, so it’s defs still up. Stars pushed an update that forces the .com client – double-check you’re not stuck on the dusty .eu installer. Also our banks are getting spicy with credit cards these days; Westpac & ANZ both auto-block gambling spend now. Debit, bank-xfer or a quick Skrill top-up still slides through fine.

Quote from sportykiwi on June 4, 2025, 4:12 amIf Stars is being a diva just hop on GG. Games are way softer, you get the little NZ flag at the table and the sign-up drop-down has “New Zealand” right there. Rake’s a bit steeper but the hourly’s still better for me.

Quote from randomguy on June 5, 2025, 3:06 amACR and CoinPoker are wide-open for Kiwis too. ACR’s same-day crypto cash-outs are sweet if your card keeps getting nuked. Traffic’s lighter than Stars obv, but evenings are perfectly playable.

Quote from kai_love on June 6, 2025, 7:53 amFor what it’s worth, online poker’s legal here as long as the site’s offshore. Govt’s floating a licence system kicking off in 2026, but nothing’s locked in yet, so Stars & co are all-good for now. Just be ready for extra KYC hoops when that rolls out.
