Mark Dash is a 38-year-old journalist with more than 16 years of experience in the media and gambling industries. A graduate of Massey University, he earned a Bachelor of Communication in 2004, and later obtained his Postgraduate Diploma of Communication in 2015.

He also obtained PGDipJ – journalism qualifications, the only qualifications in Australasia accredited by the US organization the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, in 2015.

Mark’s career is a storied one—and he has a strong background in journalism, gaming, and today, is the Chief Editor at DashTickets. He leads a team who’re dedicated to providing Kiwi players with honest, unbiased reviews—and he’s happy to answer any questions you may have.

A Background in Poker and Gaming

Before he transitioned to journalism, Mark was a professional poker player between 2007 and 2011. During this time, he competed in a wide variety of tournaments across Southeast Asia, going on to win several events. This firsthand experience in the gambling industry gives him a unique insight into what players value most—fairness, transparency, and integrity.

Passion for New Zealand and Oceania

Mark is passionate about traveling the vastness of New Zealand and Oceania, and his work at DashTickets involves creating engaging content for travellers and New Zealanders, as well as researching the entertainment industry and the lives of New Zealanders.
