The Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego (SCJ) says that commercial exploitation of online betting platforms in Chile is illegal. Its powers cover only games in licensed casinos, and it has no regulatory or supervisory powers over websites, though it can report illegal activity to the Public Prosecutor's Office. A bill to regulate online betting platforms (Boletín 14.838-03) passed the Chamber of Deputies in December 2023 and is now in the Senate, while the Supreme Court has ordered internet providers to block unauthorised betting sites.
