Bio
John Koster is Chief Executive Officer of The Star Sydney, part of The Star Entertainment Group. He has more than 40 years of experience as a casino and hotel executive. He was appointed to the Sydney role on 2 March 2026, pending regulatory approvals.
Nearly 30 years of his career were spent in senior leadership across several US states, at casino resorts and hotels including Caesars, Eldorado and Harrah's. His most recent role before joining The Star was Regional President, Caesars East, in which he led three Atlantic City casino and hotel properties.
He has worked in five countries. His experience includes three corporate acquisitions, five property takeovers and a hotel opening. He was also involved in the recent $430 million renovation of Caesars' three Atlantic City properties.
John holds an Executive MBA from Duke University and a Bachelor of Science.
