George Papanier

George Papanier is a Non-Executive Director of The Star Entertainment Group. He joined its Board on 28 November 2025. He is also President and Chief Executive Officer of Bally's Corporation and sits on the Bally's Corporation Board of Directors.

His career in casino management began in finance. Early on, he held an executive finance role at Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. He also held executive operations roles at Hemmeter Enterprises in Denver, Colorado. The sources give no dates for either position.

From 1995 to 1997 he was Chief Financial Officer of both Sun International Hotels Limited in the Bahamas and Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut. He then served as Chief Operating Officer of Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey, from 1997 to 2000. From 2000 to 2004 he was Chief Operating Officer of Peninsula Gaming, which had properties in Iowa and Louisiana. In these two operating roles he handled strategic and tactical planning for the resorts and supervised major renovation and construction projects. He also helped evaluate possible acquisitions and develop projects.

He joined Bally's in 2004 as Chief Operating Officer and is now its President and CEO.

Papanier graduated from Rowan University with a B.A. in Business Administration and Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant. In 1999-2000 he was Treasurer of the Casino Association of New Jersey.
