Charles Diao

Charles (Charlie) Diao is Group Chief Financial Officer and Interim Group Chief Risk Officer of The Star Entertainment Group. His appointment is pending receipt of all regulatory and ministerial approvals.

Before joining The Star, he worked at Bally's Corporation in the United States, where he was Senior Vice President, Finance and Corporate Treasurer. His earlier career included senior financial leadership roles in both corporate and advisory settings.

His expertise covers corporate finance, treasury and financial governance, as well as mergers and acquisitions, capital and liability management, investment management, restructuring, leveraged transactions and strategic advisory work. The company describes his record as supporting complex organisations through transformation and growth.

Diao holds a Bachelor of Science and Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
