Best MGA Casinos in New Zealand (2026)
Sophia Novakivska |
Alex SmithMGA casinos are online gambling sites which are licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority. This is a strict and respectable online casino licence which is just behind UKGC in terms of respect and reputability, and which many casinos that accept worldwide traffic use to show they’re doing business by the book. MGA licence only allows the holder of the licence to appear in regulated markets. You will often see a casino that has a UKGC licence for UK traffic and MGA for everyone else.
Malta is the licence that most casinos that will eventually hold a New Zeland licence in 2026 will probably already hold. Malta is also the licence that our own casino, SkyCity, has. Players in New Zealand are in safe hands while using MGA licensed online casinos, as they offer transparency, reliability and protection.
Best MGA Casinos in New Zealand
Malta licence isn’t an automatic badge of trust. That’s why our reviewers thoroughly test all online casinos, including MGA ones, to separate wheat from chaff and identify the best casinos in some particular group. These below are the MGA-licenced casinos that passed our stringent review process and that got a high DashScore from us.

In my experience MGA online casinos provide fantastic gaming experiences with top notch protection. Players from New Zealand wanting fairness and safety, need look no further.
The opposite of MGA is Curacao, a licence that allows the holder to accept players and their deposits under the radar, and these casinos usually avoid the markets where they can get hurt by the regulator, such as the UK.
Playing at a MGA-licensed casino has many perks.
- Regulatory body handles player complaints and disputes
- Access to PayPal as a payment method
- Access to many white hat pokie providers that also hold a strong licence
- Playing at casinos that do business by the book
- Access to responsible gambling tools such as self-exclusion
How We Review MGA Casinos in NZ?
To give readers the best data possible on each MGA-licensed casino, we do a deep dive when we review each site. This makes sure that each reader gets the most up to date information on the casino. Below is the criteria we research before adding an MGA licensed platform on our list:
- Licensing information
- Registration and login (for example, do they accept Inclave?)
- Verification documents
- Choice of games
- Bonuses and loyalty rewards
- Payment methods
- Responsible Gambling measures
- Customer support
These are all critical aspects of an online casino, and if a site provides everything here, it makes our list.

Gambling should only ever be viewed as a form of fun; entertainment, and never a way to make money, or for financial gain. If you find yourself chasing losses, unable to stop, or expecting to win, you may be exhibiting signs of problem gambling. If, at any point, you feel that you have a gambling problem, stop immediately, check out our Responsible Gambling page, and reach out to organisations and charities like New Zealand’s Problem Gambling Foundation. Help and support is available.
